WHAT IS MEZCAL?
The term mezcal (from the Nahuatl mexcalli, 'cooked maguey', from metl 'maguey' and ixcalli 'cooked') currently has three meanings: In its original sense, it refers to the food obtained by cooking the stem and the base of the leaves of this plant. It is the name of a traditional Mexican alcoholic beverage, which can be produced in nine different states of the country, made from the distillation of the heart of the maguey. Mezcal is usually artisan, 100 percent agave (it does not use chemicals). Mezcal has a strong aromatic flavor of sweet, earthy and smoky citrus notes.

What is it accompanied with? 

Never accompany it with lemon and salt, mezcal should be taken alone, but if you prefer you can accompany it with a slice of orange and worm salt or pieces of dark chocolate to fully appreciate its flavor.
